The R66T State School Cricket League Finals

On Thursday 17th July 2025, over 200 girls and boys from Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire, Cambridgeshire, and Bedfordshire all joined together at Kimbolton School and Cricket Club for the semi-finals and finals of the State School Cricket League!

The schools and academies that attended were Sir John Nelthorpe, Arnold Academy, Impington Village College, Spalding High School, The King's School Grantham, Northampton School, Bishop Stopford School, Latimer Arts College, Thomas Deacon Academy, Challney High School, London Academy, and St Paul's Way Secondary School. Also, Middlesex held their U15 final here and brought a guest U13 side to join!

"The day went very well and the promised rain did not materialise 16 schools took part. The main competition were the semi finals and then finals of the R66T Eastern Region were completed U 13 were won by a Luton school team Challney School for Boys Bedfordshire who beat Bishops Stopford Northamptonshire.” Said Geoff Hastings, Chairman of the R66T State School Cricket League. “The U15 league was won by Bishops Stopford who beat Sir John Nelthorpe School from Scunthorpe Lincolnshire. I was very pleased that Middlesex sent three teams to the event and there were 6 girls teams. I want to thank all of the County Boards who got all of this together and the Governors of Kimbolton school who allowed us to use Kimbolton for the fourth year running."

We are grateful to former England fast bowler, Angus Fraser, for his support of state school cricket and for presenting the medals to the players. Also, a huge thank you to Kimbolton School and Kimbolton Cricket Club for allowing us to use their excellent facilities for the day.

We are also very grateful to The Cricket Society Trust, Cricket East, The Steelbacks Foundation, Lincolnshire County Cricket Board, and the Middlesex Cricket Board for driving the state school cricket leagues within their regions.

Finally, well done to all of the schools that competed in the tournament, and a massive well done to the winners of the tournament…
