The R66T Academy is delighted to announce a new partnership with Adelaide University Sport and Fitness. The partnership will involve R66T Academy High Performance Players using the high-quality sporting facilities at AUSF.

The R66T Academy High Performance Program, led by High Performance Director and Joe Root’s former coach, Shaun Seigert, is a proven method to improve cricket skills and players characters to ultimately, improve their performance as cricket players. It is designed to provide cricketers from around the world with opportunities to push their abilities, and develop not only their game but as people too.

“The partnership between the R66T Academy and Adelaide University Sport and Fitness is a game-changer for cricketers from the USA and Canada.” Said High Performance Director, Shaun Seigert. “This collaboration is amazing as players will have access to the excellent sports facilities at the University, play cricket against professional cricketers here in Australia, and can apply to the University if they also decide to pursue their further education studies.”

“I’ve had the privilege of working alongside Shaun Siegert in the past, and I’m delighted to have the opportunity to collaborate once again with The Joe Root Cricket Academy,” said Paul Brown, Business Development Manager at Adelaide University Fitness Hub. “This new three-year partnership represents a strategic alignment with an elite, internationally recognised Cricket Academy, who will be utilising our state-of-the-art fitness, recovery, and outdoor training facilities to support their high-performance program.”

Adelaide University Sport and Fitness plays an integral role in helping students balance their studies with outside life for more than 125 years. They have more than 40 clubs and 3 on-campus gyms to provide plenty of options for students to develop important skills and experiences that not only contribute to student retention and academic performance, but also will open employment doors post-studies.

“The Joe Root Cricket Academy choosing Adelaide University Sport and Fitness as their training base is a strong endorsement of the high-quality facilities we provide,” said Kurt Corsini, General Manager, Facilities. “We’re proud to announce this exciting partnership, which showcases the elite standard of our cricket and gym facilities, while also delivering valuable international exposure and reinforcing Adelaide’s reputation as a destination for elite sport.”

Working closely together, the partnership will see The R66T Academy making use of AUSF’s facilities during our High Performance Program cohorts from October to May, which will provide the perfect leeway between summer break in Australia and University enrollment. Furthermore, the facilities at the campus will be perfect for the players' training on the program, including the use of their high-quality cricket facilities and gym equipment. As players develop not only their cricketing skills, but as people too, the seamless transition to further education studies couldn’t be more perfect, as the cricketers have the opportunity to study at the University, which can be applied through official Adelaide University channels and is available to eligible applicants from overseas.

Once again, we are delighted to be joining with Adelaide University Sport and Fitness and look forward to joining them during our first High Performance cohort in October 2025. To find out more about Adelaide University Sport and Fitness, click here.
