The One Day Test took place on Sunday 30th August 2026 at Hemingbrough Cricket Club, which brought together cricket, community, and a day full of fundraising for such special charities. Full of sport and entertainment, the charity cricket festival was a hit, with a perfect mix of cricket and family-friendly activities, including competitive matches featuring local teams, a celebrity fixture, coaching opportunities, and cricket masterclasses provided by our R66T Academy coaches. Alongside all of this, there were live performances from artists, food and drink stalls, and a packed raffle and auction, which helped create a festival atmosphere from start to finish.
Cricket aside, the event was focused on making a meaningful impact, as over £7,000 was raised to support organisations including The Jordan Legacy and Andy’s Man Club, as well as donating a generous amount to help fund grassroots cricket through the Root Foundation and the Cricket Society Trust
Ben Shaw, Head of R66T Academy, said: “We are extremely grateful for the donation from The One Day Test, which will make a significant contribution to the Root Foundation, increasing our work across grassroots cricket. It was also amazing to see the outcome at Hemmingbrough Cricket Club, where families and friends came together to support the charities involved, such as The Jordan Legacy and Andy’s Man Club.”
Charlie Brackley, Founder of One Day Test, said: “The One Day Test started as a mad idea to link cricket with positive outcomes and better mental health. Two years later, £26k was raised for charities, thousands of conversations, hundreds of cricketers and countless volunteers and generous souls. This idea, this community, this festival has only just begun; we are delighted with what’s been achieved so far and excited to deliver something that has an actual, real impact. Watch out for ODT3!”
We are extremely thankful for the donation from The One Day Test, and to see such an amazing contribution the festival has had for all charities involved - It was outstanding to be part of such a valuable event.
