The Trueman R66T State School Cricket League 20th Anniversary Fundraising Dinner

The R66T Academy |

On the 4th March 2026, The R66T Academy and Cricket Society Trust are celebrating 20 years of the Trueman R66T State School Cricket League - A competition that has given thousands of state school children aged 11-15 years the chance to play hard ball cricket completely free of charge, thanks to the vision of Fred Trueman. This annual fundraising dinner marks two decades of grassroots cricket development, helping to keep the game alive and thriving in state schools.

We operate in Yorkshire, Lincolnshire, Bedfordshire, Northamptonshire, Cambridgeshire, Middlesex, and as a pilot in Derbyshire. The Trueman R66T State Schools Cricket League now works alongside the MCC Foundation and continues to open doors for young players from all backgrounds, to enjoy our wonderful game.

During the fundraising dinner, taking place at The Kia Oval within the John Major Room, the event will be presented by BCC Test Match Special, Daniel Norcross. Also, featuring an exclusive guest speaker, the Right Honorable Sir John Major KG CH. Presley, from Freddie Flintoff’s TV programme,’ The Field of Dreams’, will be invited to have a conversation with Daniel Norcross. Fred Trueman’s daughter, Karen, will be invited to talk about her father. Other personalities will be in attendance on the night.
